Camelia Cottage
Amazing stay at this wonderful property

We'd had a really stressful start to our holiday due to an owner double booking the property we had booked. There was a group of 9 adults and 2 children and we had to find somewhere quick. Luckily we found this place and could not have been happier with the place. We took all 3 gites for the week but as they are separate the place can cater small or large groups. Brian and Jill were the perfect hosts and have thought of everything you could need to make your holiday perfect. There's the best kept pool, a hot tub, table tennis, table football, a barbeque and also fresh baked pastries available delivered to your door (which Jill makes and they are incredible!). The care and love that Brian and Jill put into the properties and grounds really shows. There's even a small tourist bureau behind one of the doors. The area is tranquil and relaxing with lots of villages to explore and beautiful French countryside. The place caters really well for families too with a playground for children and lots of animals to spot (including a barn owl). The gardens are just beautiful too. Brian and Jill are so helpful and knowledgable about the surrounding areas. We had an amazing week and I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely property, in a great location

We have just returned from staying at Camellia Cottage at La Logerie. A beautiful place, full of character, great on site facilities for young and old. Great pool and plenty of space around to play. The children loved the animals, and feeding the chickens. The area has plenty to do within a short drive, the swimming lakes are great. Brian and Gill make your stay very welcoming and are there to help with anything. We would consider returning in the future.

Great Family Holiday!

Had a fantastic holiday. Camellia cottage is lovely and has everything that you could wish for and more. It's a real home from home, fully equipped and spotlessley clean. The facilities are great and we loved the pool and hot tub. There's also badminton, table tennis, volley ball and table football if you can bear to tear yourself away from the pool. The kids loved the play area and the trampoline and they also loved making friends with and helping feed the animals. the 3 little sheep, the horses, donkey and the cheeky chickens. There's also loads to do in the area and we had a great day out at Monkey Valley which we would definately recommend as it's great for all ages. We also went horse riding and kayaking which was also a big hit with all of us although we did walk a bit funny for a few days after the horse riding. Brian & Gill are great and more than happy to help with anything should you need it. We will be definately be recommending La Logerie to all our friends and we hope to return next year so we can do all the stuff we didn't have time for this time.

Idylic

Had the pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks with our teenage children. Cottage was fully equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. There was a library full to bursting with leaflets on things to do and places to see so we where never short of things to entertain. Pool was fantastic, just a shame our first week was a bit drizzly so we couldn't take full advantage. But thoroughly enjoyed playing ping pong and the Jacuzzi. We ate at all the recommended restaurants which where all lovely. Thank you Brian and Gill for a great holiday.

Excellent venue

We had a perfect holiday in Rose cottage at la Logerie .We are a family of 5 adults. The cottage was perfect ,very clean, well equipped with a great ambience. The swimming pool and the picturesque grounds were well maintained by the onsite perfect hosts /owners Brian and Gill. They were on hand to cope with any of our needs and were full of information about local history and where to visit. Thanks Brian and Gill , we will be back!

Idyllic location for a relaxing holiday

Rose Cottage was the perfect gite, for 8 our first week and 4 the second. The welcome pack was very generous with fresh bread and lovely wine. Extremely well equipped gite, very clean and welcoming, any issues/concerns dealt with very promptly by onsite owners.
Mauprevoir is a couple of minutes away by car for the boulangerie and small supermarket - if you wanted fresh croissants/pain-au-chocolat then Gill will bake and deliver hers direct to your door - delicious.
La Logerie has plenty of space for the children to play independently when in sight (there is a stream through the grounds) and the pool was a great hit. Rose cottage also had ample private space outside too.
The local area has plenty to see and do; rivers, castles, ancient towns. We had our bikes with us and the disused railway line behind the property was the ideal place for family bike rides (children are 6 & 7), we cycled as far as the lake at St Martin L'Ars (12Km return trip) and would love to go further.
Very tranquil spot with only a little traffic noise from locals and farm vehicles - mainly you hear the wind in the trees, the stream and the local wildlife.
Well worth the drive for a family holiday, manageable in a day from southern UK (took us around 8hrs with stops from gite to Calais by motorway).
We look forward to returning.

My favourite holiday destination

La Logerie is far and away the best self catering destination I have ever visited, this was my third visit. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable and excellently stocked with kitchenware etc. The owners were friendly and helpful, whilst entirely unobtrusive. We arrived full of good intentions to visit local towns but then couldn't tear ourselves away from the pool! Thank you for a wonderful holiday - see you next year!

Wonderful Holiday!

We spent two relaxing weeks at La Logerie. The gite was well equipped and very comfortable. There are lots of things for the kids to do such as the lovely (but chilly!) pool, trampoline, swings, badminton, playhouse, darts, table tennis and table football. The hot tub was wonderful in the evenings!
The owners are very welcoming and friendly and take great care of the gites and communal areas. The homemade cakes were very yummy and a real treat.
There was a very nice welcoming pack which we were grateful for as the journey had been a long one. Wine, tea, coffee, milk, OJ, eggs, bread, cheese etc.
La Logerie is in a very rural part of France, the nearby village of Mauprevoir has a small supermarket and bakery.
This was a really nice holiday for a family as we didn't really need to explore anywhere, the children spent most of their time in the pool.

Fantastic family holiday

We stayed at la logerie at the end of July and what a brilliant holiday we had. We were there for a week but wished we'd booked two as it wasn't long enough. We stayed in the beautiful rose cottage and wanted for nothing, it was a fully equipped and spotless. The kids loved the pool and there was even a hot tub !!! Sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset made us feel like celebs !!!
When we managed to pull our selves away from the pool we went to the lake at st Martin l'ars , saw the monkeys at valley de sanges and even took the kids horse riding. It was a fantastic holiday, Brian and Gill were really helpful and we will definitely be going back next year!

Lavender Cottage
A little haven in France

We were looking for a quiet week in rural France away from city life in the UK. On arrival we received a welcome pack of essential goodies to start the week, including of course some wine, we thought this a nice touch.
The cottage itself has been refurbished and maintained to a high standard whilst still retaining it's character and the accomodation was very clean, the view from the patio over the paddocks is lovely.
La Logerie is set in a beautiful part of France and the site has a beautiful pool and hot tub, what a lovely way to round off a days site seeing with a nice glass of French wine.
Gill and Brian are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome, thanks folks for a great week.

Great country gite to recharge the batteries.

Very hospital hosts who provided a lovely welcome pack including eggs from their own chickens. Beautifully converted farm buildings, very clean and comfortable. Lots of supermarkets nearby. Picturesque places to visit such as Isle de Jourdan, Confolens, St Junien, Civray & Charroux. Even found a quaint cafe bar in Beneste whilst venturing around the country roads. Fabulous pool to cool off in, table tennis in the shade or even badminton when you can bear the heat and tennis in the local village. Clean cosy and comfortable with all you need to hand.

Very Private Location

We were completely satisfied with Lavender Cottage near Mauprevoir. The facilities in and around the cottage were complete and the patio was perfect for breakfasts in the sun and dinners after we had been site-seeing all day and after a swim in the pool. Gill added her lavender touches to the cottage and Brian provided some local history. The area is excellent for country walks, interesting towns and supermarket shopping. We would love to return someday and we would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic holiday in a 5* location

When we rolled up at la Logerie we couldn't believe our eyes. It was like a paradise hide away !!! a cluster of stone cottages and a beautiful pool and hot tub with the most amazing views. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a welcome pack full of goodies. It was peaceful but the local area had loads to do. I really don't want to go home. Brian and Gill the owners are lovely and so helpful not to mention Gills croissants and pain au chocolates where the to die for. Will defiantly be coming back :)

Fantastic Holiday

This was one of the best holidays we have had. La Logerie is a fantastic place, picturesque surroundings with great facilities. We were given a warm welcome on arrival by Brian and Gill who are so friendly and helpful. The welcome pack of wine, bread, cheese etc was a wonderful touch which was very welcome after a long drive then a dip in the immaculate swimming pool was refreshing. The cottage was very clean and had literally everything you can want. The bed was very comfortable and the shower is great. There was a lovely patio with table, chairs and bbq which we tried out later with a glass of wine, the sun setting and Charles Trenet La Mer on ipad just wonderful! The was plenty to do for our young (8) daughter trampoline, badminton swimming, table tennis etc at La Logerie and she loved feeding the dwarf goats with Gill and playing with the cat. There is a big hot tub which again was great after a hard days eating and sightseeing.
There are plenty of lovely little towns nearby to buy great fresh bread from and nose around the daily markets. Gill very kindly helped us book a table at their favorite restaurant in Charroux, amazing service and French food. There is a supermarket at Savigne 10 mins down the road, with the help of Brian's map, which has everything you need.
I would and have recommended this place to everyone I know it is a gem of a find for a holiday and we are very much looking forward to coming back next year with our new arrival thank you Gill and Brian for a wonderful holiday.

An absolute gem

At lavender cottage you wake in the morning to the sunrise as you have breakfast on the terrace, after a comfortable nights sleep. The cottage and everything in it so clean and just perfect. The welcome package on arrival is the best we have had in the last ten years of travelling in France. After an early evening swim in the glorious beautifully maintained pool, you can relax watching the very kind and friendly owners, Brian & Gill feed their animals down in the paddocks from lavender cottages terrace with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. What a perfect end to a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
